Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - (Building Services / MEP) Nr Southampton, Hampshire – Flexible working options £40k to £65k dept on experience MEP Design / Building Services Design / Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Join an ambitious building services design team creating designs for a range of technical environments, project types include military manufacturing plants, data centres, marine engineering departments, engine design suites and large and complex plant rooms. It important to note that low carbon design is at the core of everything they do. It’s a modern creative consultancy and as such the engineers’ contributions are recognised and people treated as individuals. Responsibilities * Dependent on your experience level - take clients brief along with responsibility for the technical fulfilment. * Carry out site surveys for projects, to obtain all relevant information required for carrying out scheme design. * Undertake mechanical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings and specifications for projects. Including undertaking calculations on cable sizing, lighting selections etc * Attend project meetings with clients and other design team members, contractors and other stakeholders. * Taking opportunities to learn and develop your skills as an engineer * Guiding more junior engineers. * To work with a focus on low carbon design Experience Required * Building Services Degree or Mechanical Design Degree or other related higher educational qualification (HNC/HND) * At least 2 years’ experience mechanical design within building services * Experience in maintaining / building good working relationships. * Technical design experience should include mechanical calculations, drawings, specifications. * Experience using design software * Hold a full UK driving license
