This Senior Electrical Design Engineer role will give you scope to develop your career and see the bigger picture in this well-established consultancy. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with the development of a brief defining design requirements and following up with managing client expectations from inception to completion of each project.
- Developing realistic conceptual designs, schematics and detailed designs in order to assist fellow professionals with shaping the building design at an early stage.
- Produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate that designs will perform as required.
- An awareness and understanding of the purpose and principals of a range of mechanical building services systems.
- Proactive approach to communicating with other technicians and engineers within the practice to produce carefully considered and well-coordinated engineering design drawings and written specifications.
- Manage projects against time, cost and quality requirements.
- Mentoring some more junior, but capable design engineers as they progress into more senior roles.
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience of electrical design in building services.
- Current membership of at least one relevant professional institution.
- Current full UK driving license.
- An interest in sustainable design and energy.
- Thorough understanding of current legislative requirements and design standards.
