This associate or senior electrical design engineer role is to join a growing forward-thinking medium sized privately owned engineering consultancy which offers a family feel. This is a delivery-focused role with responsibility for leading the successful delivery of engineering projects and ensuring strong technical outcomes across multiple live schemes.
You will take ownership of complex mechanical and electrical building services projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high standards of design quality, coordinated delivery, and effective programme control. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys remaining close to project delivery while taking clear accountability for engineering output, project outcomes, and technical performance.
Most of the work will be MEP / building services design for NHS trusts (new build and upgrade projects) and commercial and residential projects. Projects are primarily located in the south of England, with most clients being in the south coast area.
- Lead delivery of mechanical and electrical building services projects from concept through to completion
- Act as the project interface for clients across allocated schemes
- Manage project budgets, fees, and resource allocation
- Take responsibility for project financial performance within allocated delivery scope
- Lead and coordinate internal project teams
- Provide technical oversight and design leadership where required
- Manage project risk, including early identification and resolution of issues
- Support development of long-term client relationships through project delivery excellence
Degree (or equivalent) in Building Services Engineering or related discipline, with professional accreditation with CIBSE, IMechE, IET or equivalent.
Strong background in Building Services Engineering within a consultancy environment.
Proven experience delivering complex mechanical and/or electrical building services projects through all design stages.
Experience acting as a project lead or senior engineer on multi-disciplinary projects.
Demonstrable experience managing project budgets, fees, and delivery programmes.
Client-facing experience within project delivery environments.
Ability to lead internal project teams or coordinate engineering resources effectively.
