This associate mechanical design role is to join a friendly professional team of building service design engineers, specialising in mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) engineering.
They work on a range of technically interesting and varied projects, including work with well-known architects, designers and contractors. They have a great reputation for the quality of their services and their focus on sustainability and are looking for an associate level engineer who shares these values.
As an associate mechanical design engineer, you will be involved in supporting and delivering designs for a range of projects, including those in the science and healthcare sectors.
The role will be instrumental in helping to continue to grow and develop a team of technically competent engineers as well as maintaining good client relationships to support future business growth.
The Role:
- Attending project meetings and disseminating the brief within the project team.
- Development of initial strategic concepts for projects.
- Lead larger scale schemes and co-ordinate all disciplines being the main client point of contact throughout a project.
- Technical delivery of work, either alone or as part of a team.
- Effectively delegate, manage and check work undertaken by others.
- Monitor project expenditure.
- Maintain and develop client relationships.
- Guiding more junior engineers.
Experience Required:
- Excellent technical knowledge as a mechanical design engineer in MEP, preferably a chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
- Thorough understanding of building services engineering and interdisciplinary design.
- You will need to be of personable nature and a good communicator.
- Lead a team and proactively support and motivate team members.
- Ability to develop effective client and fellow professional relationships.
