Prior to True Brit, Zygi has shepherded the financing of over 50 British films but has led the theatrical release of over 300 films within the UK, including blockbusters from ‘The Hunger Games’ to ‘La La Land’. True Brit Entertainment’s current slate includes The Death of Robin Hood starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, Sunny Dancer starring Bella Ramsey and Neil Patrick Harris, 500 Miles starring Bill Nighy and Victorian Psycho starring Maika Monroe and Jason Isaacs.
Role Purpose: Work closely with Head of Marketing & Publicity to develop and execute the marketing strategy for all TRUE BRIT ENTERTAINMENT UK & EIRE theatrical film releases within a specified budget. Build fully integrated marketing campaigns with clear communication strategies, defined target audiences, media plans, creative assets, promotional, exhibitor and social media activations.
Key Functions:
- Work closely with Head Marketing & Publicity to develop strategic direction for each release.
- Work closely with the Publicity and Sales teams/agencies to ensure the strategic direction for each release is successfully aligned and implemented across the Theatrical division.
- Lead, challenge and clearly communicate with media, promotional, digital & creative agencies throughout the campaign planning process.
- Work closely with Head Marketing & Publicity to brief and develop media plans with assigned media agency to deliver targeted, standout, cost-efficient campaigns.
- Work closely with the Exhibition sector to negotiate trade marketing packages, deliver marketing assets and ensure strong share of voice in all exhibitor communications.
- Oversee development and execution of digital strategies for each title.
- Liaise with and present Marketing strategies to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide comprehensive reporting, analysis and feedback on all aspects of marketing during the lifecycle of a film release.
Specific Responsibilities:
Creative:
- From photoshoots through to digital assets, work closely with agencies and the Head Marketing & Publicity to originate, develop and implement best-in-class creative campaign assets for each release.
- Ensure that all assets being created are delivered on deadline and to spec; and are fully aligned with positioning, strategy and target audience.
Media:
- Work closely with Head Marketing & Publicity to brief and develop tailored, cost-effective media plans for each release.
- Management of several £m+ media plans at any one time.
- Support the media agency and Head Marketing & Publicity to set overall departmental media strategy; building media owner relationships, maximising ROI and communicating insights and learnings from past campaigns back to the Business.
- Work with media agency to drive longer-term research and insights projects.
Digital Strategy:
- Work with Head Marketing & Publicity to set and oversee digital strategy for the department.
- Work with assigned agencies to develop and execute the digital campaign for each title, including Social Strategy, Online PR & Promotions, Stunt, Grassroots and Influencer activations.
- Management of TRUE BRIT ENTERTAINMENT social channels.
Agencies:
- Maintain oversight of agency allocations and costs, building strong working relationships in the process.
- Ensure that all agencies appointed to work on TRUE BRIT ENTERTAINMENT film titles are accurately briefed in writing with expectations and deadlines clearly outlined.
- Work with Head Marketing & Publicity to negotiate contracts & deals that ensure TRUE BRIT ENTERTAINMENT receive best-in-market agreements from agencies and suppliers.
- Work with third party promotional agencies to identify long-term opportunities across our films and brands.
Exhibitor Relations:
- Work closely with the Theatrical Sales team to ensure exhibitor marketing and in-cinema presence is aligned with the Sales strategy.
- Build strong relationships with the Exhibition sector to negotiate trade marketing packages, deliver marketing assets and ensure strong share of voice in all exhibitor communications.
- Work closely with print distribution facility to ensure that all marketing materials are delivered to sites and installed in a timely manner to hit key competitor targets.
Publicity:
- Work closely with the Publicity team/agency to ensure they are an integrated part of the planning, implementation and post analysis process for every campaign.
- Proactively ensure that by working together, the marketing and publicity campaigns dovetail to deliver optimal awareness, positioning and cut-through across all areas of media.
Communication:
- Liaise regularly with the Head Marketing & Publicity to generate fresh ideas on each title and ensure that campaigns are evolving in line with the expectations of the release and remain on-strategy.
- Communicate and work with licensors, sales agents, production companies and filmmakers during the campaign planning, approvals and implementation process.
- Regular updates with the CEO and Head Marketing & Publicity.
Reporting:
- Ensure all Marketing Strategy documents are well drafted, accurate and up-to-date.
- Share Insight Reports and Marketing Campaign Summaries with Theatrical department and relevant stakeholders.
Innovation:
- Seek out new and different approaches to bring a freshness of thought to each film.
- Responsible for organising and facilitating inspired kick-off, briefing and brainstorming sessions for assigned films to ensure that each film is uniquely nurtured and developed.
- Stay on the pulse of industry, competitor and media trends and actively put forward suggestions/case studies that may benefit the department/company as a whole.
- Bring an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for making bold, innovative choices within the Marketing space.
Key Competencies:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience managing Theatrical film marketing.
- Full understanding of theatrical release marketing and distribution (Creative/Media/Promotions/Digital/Trade Marketing).
- Successful track record in high profile, event-level marketing and/or advertising, with experience on campaigns with large media budgets.
- A strong creative thinker that is capable of multi-tasking and working to tight deadlines within a fast-changing environment.
- Strong awareness of social media potential in the context of a film marketing campaign.
- Passion for film.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in managing external agencies and creative talent.
- Flair, initiative, intellectual rigour and a flexible approach.
- Ability to construct and manage budgets accurately and cost-efficiently.
- Extremely efficient with a good eye for detail.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, hands-on approach with a willingness to support the team and get involved in all areas of campaign execution where necessary.
