We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team and start a rewarding career with us. As a key member of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial accounting and reporting processes. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will lead key financial activities while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function. We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on qualified accountant with excellent attention to detail and strong relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and accounting adjustments while maintaining general ledger integrity.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, and resolve variances and outstanding items.
  • Ensure management accounts are accurate, fully supported, and provide clear financial insight.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to resolve accounting issues and understand impacts across key finance areas.
  • Lead statutory reporting activities, including financial statements, disclosures, and year-end audit management.
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, banking partners, tax advisers, Group Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage group reporting submissions, ensuring compliance with deadlines, policies, and reporting standards.
  • Support cashflow forecasting, treasury activities, and capital expenditure management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls, automation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with governance, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Professional Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
  • Strong experience in a financial accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly analytical with strong numerical skills and experience working with large volumes of data.
  • Experience operating within a robust financial control environment with strong balance sheet reconciliation skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards and ability to ensure compliance with UK-IFRS and company policies.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Experience managing, supervising, or developing finance team members.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Group reporting experience (desirable).
