Job Description
This is a key coordination role, acting as the link between our customers, operators, site teams, plant fitters and the wider Tru7 Plant operation. You will be responsible for managing plant service requirements, responding to breakdowns and ensuring issues are logged, prioritised and progressed through to resolution.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and will have excellent communication, administration and problem-solving skills.
A background in plant, construction, transport, fleet, engineering or service coordination would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for plant service and breakdown enquiries.
- Receive, record and prioritise breakdown reports from customers, drivers, operators and site teams.
- Assess the urgency and nature of reported faults and coordinate the appropriate response.
- Liaise with mobile and workshop-based plant fitters to allocate work efficiently.
- Coordinate engineer attendance at customer sites and construction projects.
- Keep customers and internal teams updated on breakdown progress and expected repair times.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, servicing and engineering activity.
- Monitor outstanding jobs and ensure they are followed through to completion.
- Schedule routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Help coordinate planned maintenance alongside reactive breakdown work.
- Liaise with parts and stores teams to ensure required parts are sourced and available.
- Assist with obtaining parts, hire equipment or external engineering support where required.
- Maintain accurate job sheets, service records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all relevant information is captured on the company's systems.
- Identify recurring faults and elevate potential reliability issues to Engineering Management Team.
- Assist with monitoring plant downtime and repair turnaround times.
- Support the Engineering Team with reporting and administrative requirements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, engineers and internal departments.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
Breakdown Coordination
Breakdowns can happen at any time, so the ability to remain calm and organised under pressure is essential.
You Will Be Expected To
- Quickly establish the nature and location of a breakdown.
- Determine the appropriate level of response.
- Coordinate the most suitable engineer or recovery solution.
- Keep relevant stakeholders informed throughout the process.
- Escalate serious or prolonged breakdowns appropriately.
- Ensure completed repairs are accurately recorded and closed down.
