Job Description

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing machinery to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable and operational.

The role will suit someone who takes pride in their work, has a practical approach to problem-solving and enjoys working with heavy plant and mechanical equipment.

  • Screeners and Crushers

This role requires both mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to identify and resolve faults.
  • Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete accurate service, repair and defect records.
  • Attend breakdowns and respond efficiently to machinery faults where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and working environment.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Plant teams to minimise machinery downtime.
  • Support the wider Engineering team with workshop and maintenance requirements.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience working as a Plant Fitter, Plant Technician, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Technician, Vehicle Technician or similar.
  • Good mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding ability.
  • Experience working with heavy plant, construction or agricultural machinery is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider Engineering team.
  • A proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Engineering, Automotive or a similar discipline is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Own tools are essential.

You’ll be self-motivated, practical in your approach, and comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
