Tru Earthworks is seeking a talented and experienced Estimator to support our continued growth across earthworks and civil engineering projects. This role is key to driving successful work-winning and ensuring robust, commercially sound submissions from the tender stage through to contract award and handover. You will be responsible for producing accurate, well-considered estimates and contributing to pre‑construction strategy, ensuring the business's financial effectiveness and profitability. We are open to experienced and senior candidates, including those with strong knowledge of estimating software and systems. Flexible working arrangements, including remote working, may be considered for the right individual.

Requirements

  • Review, understand, and produce detailed tender submissions
  • Carry out quantity take-offs, first principles pricing, and full estimate build‑ups
  • Identify, analyse, and price risks and opportunities within tenders
  • Engage with and obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare, issue, and assess subcontract enquiries and returns
  • Develop and maintain subcontractor, supplier, and tender databases
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on tender strategy, pricing, and submission reviews
  • Present and discuss tenders with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Manage post‑tender queries, clarifications, and negotiations
  • Coordinate and attend site visits and surveys as required
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating and pre‑construction processes
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth handover of successful tenders
  • Provide ongoing support to project teams as required
