We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy after‑hours workshop team working on a modern fleet of commercial vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Heavy Vehicle Technician to work in a focused night environment where you can maximise productivity and earning potential.
As an HGV Technician (Nights), you will play a key role in keeping customer fleets moving by carrying out high quality repairs, diagnostics, servicing and maintenance during out of hours operations.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician (Nights):
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment
- Complete MOT preparations and vehicle inspections
- Ensure all work meets DAF and DVSA standards
- Accurately complete job cards and service documentation
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
- Work independently during night shifts while maintaining high output
- Support fleet uptime by reducing vehicle downtime
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
- Ability to work night shifts with minimal supervision
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
- Experience within a dealership or fleet workshop environment
- Manufacturer training or accreditation
