Working on a wide range of commercial vehicles, you will carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to the highest standards, helping to maximise vehicle uptime and keep customers on the road.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Complete inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair work
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and DVSA standards
- Accurately complete workshop documentation and job cards
- Work effectively within a professional workshop team
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or HGV Fitter
- Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Positive attitude and strong team working skills
Desirable:
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
- Manufacturer or dealership experience
- IRTEC accreditation
