HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician (Tamworth)

Location: Tamworth

Salary:£50,000 per year

Hours: 45 hours per week

Shifts: Rotating shifts

Week 1: 6:00am to 3:30pm

Week 2: 9:00am to 6:30pm

Alternate Saturday mornings on a rota

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
  • Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Repair or replace components as required
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer and DVSA standards
  • Complete workshop documentation accurately
  • Support roadside assistance work when required
  • Work safely and efficiently within a busy workshop environment

Essential

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician
  • Experience working as an HGV Mechanic
  • Background as a Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
  • Full UK driving licence

  • Positive attitude and strong team working skills

Desirable

  • HGV Class 1 licence
  • Manufacturer training
  • Experience working within a dealership or fleet workshop
