Our client is looking for a qualified and motivated MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter to join their growing team within a modern accident repair centre. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will support the repair and restoration of damaged vehicles while building your knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs.
Qualifications required:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship as an MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter and achieved a relevant qualification (such as NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
- A genuine interest in vehicle repair and developing a long-term career within accident repair
- Any practical workshop or placement experience within a body shop environment would be advantageous
- Understanding of vehicle mechanical, electrical and trim systems
- Eagerness to learn, develop and work towards productivity and bonus targets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Exposure to diagnostic equipment, geometry or wheel alignment would be beneficial but not essential
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Duties:
- Assist with stripping and refitting vehicles following repair procedures and manufacturer specifications
- Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs under guidance where required
- Support detailed inspections to identify damaged components
- Use diagnostic equipment to assist with fault finding and repairs
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards
- Perform quality checks throughout the repair process
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain efficient workshop flow
- Keep accurate records of completed repairs and parts used
- Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop
