We are recruiting an experienced Plant Technician in Reading to join a busy and professional technical team. This is a mobile role maintaining and repairing plant machinery and vehicles across Southern England to keep customer equipment safe, compliant and operational.
The Role:
- Carry out servicing, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and vehicles.
- Travel to client sites across Southern England for mobile repair work and support the workshop team as required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform major and minor repairs on plant machinery and vehicles.
- Carry out PDI works and attachment set up.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance according to schedules.
- Maintain inventory in service vehicles and keep work areas clean.
- Work with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs.
- Complete documentation, warranty claims and service records.
- Assist with in-house training for apprentices and trainees.
- Follow health, safety and compliance standards at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI in Plant Machinery Repair and Maintenance.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing plant machinery and vehicles.
- Ability to identify worn and faulty components in line with DVSA standards.
- Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
- Reliable, proactive and professional.
