We are recruiting an experienced Plant Technician in Reading to join a busy and professional technical team. This is a mobile role maintaining and repairing plant machinery and vehicles across Southern England to keep customer equipment safe, compliant and operational.

The Role:

  • Carry out servicing, repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and vehicles.
  • Travel to client sites across Southern England for mobile repair work and support the workshop team as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform major and minor repairs on plant machinery and vehicles.
  • Carry out PDI works and attachment set up.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance according to schedules.
  • Maintain inventory in service vehicles and keep work areas clean.
  • Work with repair teams to diagnose and plan repairs.
  • Complete documentation, warranty claims and service records.
  • Assist with in-house training for apprentices and trainees.
  • Follow health, safety and compliance standards at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI in Plant Machinery Repair and Maintenance.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing plant machinery and vehicles.
  • Ability to identify worn and faulty components in line with DVSA standards.
  • Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
  • Reliable, proactive and professional.
