Location: Oxford

Pay: Β£18 to Β£19 per hour depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shifts: Alternating shifts 07:30 to 16:00 and 13:30 to 22:00

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter in Oxford to join a busy and professional workshop environment. This position would suit a Commercial Vehicle Technician or HGV Engineer who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in safe, compliant and high quality vehicle maintenance and repair.

The focus of this HGV Technician role is simple: keep customer vehicles on the road and downtime to a minimum. You will be joining a forward thinking technical team with access to manufacturer led training, ongoing development and structured health and safety learning. Ideal for an HGV Mechanic or HGV Engineer looking for long term stability and progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carring out major and minor repairs as an HGV Technician on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Completing inspections and planned preventative maintenance as an HGV Fitter
  • Diagnosing faults and identifying worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records as a Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised
  • Supporting roadside repairs when required
  • Completing job cards, compliance paperwork and warranty documentation
  • Assisting with training apprentices and junior HGV Mechanics
Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • NVQ City and Guilds or IMI qualifications accepted
  • Experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability
  • Good understanding of DVSA compliance and safety standards
  • Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes
  • Positive attitude and strong team ethic
