We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Technician for a rewarding mobile role across London, Kent and Essex. This position is ideal for experienced Plant Engineers, Mobile Plant Technicians or Plant Mechanics eager to develop their careers, receive comprehensive training, and work independently on a diverse range of plant machinery.
The Role
As a Plant Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing customers’ vehicles and plant machinery to ensure maximum uptime and compliance. This hands-on role involves a combination of workshop and onsite work. You will collaborate closely with sales and repair teams to deliver excellent service and may also provide in-house training for trainees and apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform major and minor repairs on plant machinery and attachments
- Carry out PDI works and attachment set-up on machines
- Conduct mobile repair and maintenance at customer sites
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance according to machine hours and schedules
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness in the service vehicle
- Work collaboratively with sales and repair teams to deliver reliable customer service
- Diagnose faults and plan repairs for machines
- Maintain accurate service and warranty records and documentation
- Provide in-house training to new recruits and trainees
- Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety standards at all times
Skills and Qualifications for Plant Technician / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Mechanic
- Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI qualification in Plant Machinery Repair and Maintenance
- Proven experience as a Plant Technician, Plant Engineer or Plant Mechanic
- Ability to identify worn or faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to work independently

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
