A well established commercial vehicle workshop is looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to support the smooth running of its evening shift operation. This is a hands on supervisory role, ideal for a Senior HGV Technician or Workshop Supervisor who enjoys leading by example while still carrying out productive work.

You will support the Workshop Manager, oversee technicians on shift, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The role combines technical expertise with leadership and workflow coordination.

Key Responsibilities of a Workshop Supervisor
  • Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs trailers and commercial vehicles
  • Support and guide technicians on shift to maintain productivity and quality
  • Assist with job allocation and workflow planning to meet deadlines
  • Carry out inspections servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose faults and support repair planning with the team
  • Ensure workshop housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Complete job cards paperwork and warranty documentation accurately
  • Ensure all work meets DVSA standards and company procedures
Skills and Qualifications for a Workshop Supervisor
  • Essential Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent
  • Proven experience working on HGVs in a workshop environment
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability
  • Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes
  • Desirable Previous experience as a Workshop Supervisor Senior Technician or Team Leader
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior technicians
