What You Will Be Doing

  • Safely operating commercial vehicles, collecting customer vehicles from various sites and presenting vehicles for MOT
  • Carrying out road tests of vehicles following workshop repairs and reporting findings to the workshop manager as an experienced HGV Driver
  • Conducting pre and post trip vehicle checks and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
  • Ensuring vehicles are parked safely and in designated areas at all times
  • Loading and unloading with care and ensuring items are secured properly during transit
  • Assisting with workshop operations and maintaining a tidy workplace and yard space as a Yardsman
  • General housekeeping of the yard area ensuring a safe working environment at all times
  • Maintaining internal and external building and yard areas
  • Covering other locations when required with flexibility across sites

What You Will Need

  • Proven experience as an HGV Driver, Yardsman or HGV Yard Driver within a commercial vehicle environment
  • Valid HGV C+E driving licence with a clean driving record - essential requirement
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles (advantageous)
  • Safe, responsible and professional approach to all driving and yard duties
  • Flexibility to cover other locations when required
