Salary: Basic Salary with OTE of £33,280

Hours: 40 hours per week

Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated MOT Tester to join their busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities of an MOT Tester:

  • Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations.
  • Complete work orders, recording repairs completed, parts required, and labour times accurately.
  • Test vehicles using diagnostic and measuring equipment to identify faults.
  • Interpret and use manufacturer technical data and repair instructions.
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance work.
  • Remove and install vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
  • Conduct vehicle health checks and identify any additional work required.
  • Prepare new and Approved Used vehicles for handover.
  • Carry out technical repairs in line with established workshop procedures.
  • Report any additional faults or delays to the Workshop Controller or Service Manager.
  • Record all hours worked and materials used accurately.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety standards before being returned to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications for an MOT Tester:

  • Valid MOT Tester licence.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience working as an MOT Tester or Vehicle Technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
