We are recruiting an experienced Civil Project Engineer to support a growing portfolio of large-scale transmission infrastructure projects. This role will provide civil engineering expertise across multiple projects, primarily during the development and early delivery stages, ensuring designs are technically sound, compliant, and constructible.

Initial 12 months Hybrid Working

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide civil engineering support across multiple transmission projects, producing outline designs during development phases.
  • Support site and route selection, ground investigation specifications, earthworks design, public road upgrades and landscaping for proposed assets.
  • Define and manage the scope of civil engineering design for assigned projects.
  • Validate and verify engineering designs, construction and installation works.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support to site teams to ensure quality and compliance during delivery.
  • Evaluate contractor tenders and technical submissions.
  • Procure and manage specialist engineering and consultancy services.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications and CDM Regulations.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering standards, specifications and best practice.
  • In-depth understanding of CDM Regulations and safe design principles.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.
  • Experience using digital engineering platforms, particularly InfraWorks for early-stage design development.
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident, proactive approach with the ability to guide technical workstreams and influence outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
