We are seeking two highly skilled and proactive Quality Inspectors to support construction and installation activities for a major industrial project in Murton. One with a mechanical background and one with electrical. This one-year contract role focuses on ensuring quality compliance across mechanical and piping works in both ISBL and OSBL areas. The successful candidate will provide oversight, inspection, and coordination with contractors, engineers, and third-party inspectors to uphold project standards and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor construction and installation works performed by BOC-appointed contractors
- Provide quality assurance and control input during planning and execution phases
- Review and comment on construction and fabrication work packs, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Records (ITRs)
- Conduct inspections and support third-party quality verification activities
- Monitor and advise on quality control for mechanical and piping fabrication and installation across ISBL and OSBL zones
- Assist Construction Management with quality planning and execution strategies
- Liaise with client representatives, engineering teams, HSSE, and project management to ensure alignment on quality objectives
- Support feasibility and method studies for construction activities
- Collaborate with contractors’ quality teams and field supervisors to ensure robust quality documentation and turnover processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline
- Proven experience in construction quality assurance, particularly in mechanical and piping systems
- Strong understanding of ITPs, ITRs, and quality documentation standards
- Familiarity with ISBL/OSBL construction environments and industrial project workflows
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience working with third-party inspection bodies and client-side quality teams
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of BOC standards and procedures
- Internal or Lead Auditor certification
- Experience in industrial gas, petrochemical, or related sectors
- Familiarity with HSSE protocols in construction environments
