Brand new opportunity to work for a leader in renewable energy, and be part of a very exciting new offshore wind project in the UK as an Electrical Components Engineer.
Key responsibilities:
- Technical ownership of HVAC/HVDC electrical components (switchgear, protection, transformers, reactors, LV/HVDC systems).
- Lead RCAs for component failures and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare/review technical documents and support tenders, contracts, and procurement.
- Manage technical aspects of electrical works during construction and supplier/product prequalification.
- Lead factory audits and ensure compliance with internal standards, norms, and best practices.
- Support development of offshore/onshore substation, foundations, and SCADA electrical systems.
- Ensure robust through-life design, safety-by-design, and specification compliance across consultants and contractors.
- Coordinate interfaces across project packages and collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and instrumentation experts.
Must have Qualification / Experience:
- University degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Several years of relevant work experience as an electrical component specialist.
- High-end expertise regarding rating, design and testing – the optimum would be work experience gained within a manufacturer, or an Offshore Wind Farm Developer.
- Relevant experience regarding related project work, especially in the fields of technical specification writing and negotiations.
- Fluent English language skills.
Nice to have:
- Chartership in an Engineering discipline and membership of recognised professional body.
- Renewable energy/offshore wind farm experience.
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business.
- Excellent communication, coordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful.
- Valid driving licence.
