Our client based in the Northeast is looking for a Commissioning Manager. This role is on an initial one year contract outside IR35. As the experienced Commissioning Manager, you will oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across a range of complex systems. The role will be responsible for ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and handed over in line with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across project scope
  • Ensure systems are fully prepared for testing, energisation, and handover
  • Plan and execute commissioning schedules in line with project milestones
  • Interface with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure smooth system integration
  • Manage inspection, testing, and validation processes
  • Review and verify commissioning documentation, procedures, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards throughout all phases
  • Support issue resolution, fault finding, and system optimisation during commissioning
  • Participate in client handover and close-out activities

Requirements & Experience

  • Proven experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning within complex projects
  • Strong technical background in:
    • Building Services
    • Clean room environments
    • LV auxiliary systems
    • SCADA and telecommunications systems
    • Exposure to HV systems

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Strong focus on safety and quality assurance

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Relevant commissioning or engineering certifications are advantageous
