We are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in drilling operations to oversee and manage contractual obligations across a range of upstream projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands the nuances of drilling contracts, rig operations, and vendor negotiations, and can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. This is an initial 3 month contract Inside IR35. This role is based in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to drilling services, equipment, and logistics
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with drilling engineers, procurement teams, and legal advisors to align contract strategy with operational needs
- Manage contract lifecycle from initiation to close-out, including amendments and renewals
- Monitor contractor performance and resolve disputes or claims
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams
- Maintain accurate records and contract documentation
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the oil & gas or energy sector
- Hands-on background in drilling operations, either offshore or onshore
- Strong understanding of drilling-related contracts (e.g., day rate, turnkey, integrated services)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, IADC, and local regulatory frameworks
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines.
