Job Description:
TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting new role for a WTG Commissioning Client Representative.
The role involves acting as the Principal Contractor’s (PC) representative, observing the Contractor’s activities related to hot commissioning of the WTGs, and providing feedback to the onshore teams (WTG package team and Principal Contractor).
Requirements:
- Experience providing offshore representative services in offshore renewables, preferably under an EPCI Contract environment. Proven experience as an offshore representative for WTG commissioning on UK wind farms is essential.
- Proven competency in LOLER and PUWER.
- Experience with handover procedures is preferable.
- Experience working on other SGRE projects is preferable.
- Experience with commissioning and energisation scopes of work.
- Strong knowledge of roles under CDM (2015) and UK Health and Safety requirements.
- Understanding of best wind industry practices, applicable codes, and standards relevant to offshore construction.
- Evidence of CDM competency.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet); experience with inspection/auditing software is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English.
Scope:
The Offshore Rep will observe the Contractor’s performance, represent the WTG package team in HSE, quality, procedures, and program matters, and support the WTG commissioning manager in risk management. They will provide frontline support to energisation teams and have support from commissioning supervisors based on the Cold Commissioning Vessel.
Deliverables:
- Review and agree daily progress reports with the Contractor’s offshore representative, documenting all commissioning activities and issues.
- Liaise with the commissioning supervisor regarding on-site progress and escalation topics.
- Attend and chair meetings on behalf of the WTG package and PC when required.
- Identify and notify construction issues promptly, contributing to resolution.
- Participate in safety and quality walks, report observations, and raise alerts on HSE risks.
- Follow emergency response plans in case of incidents, supporting investigations and claims.
- Ensure compliance with the Construction Phase Plan and HSE plan.
Certifications:
- GWO Training: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, Enhanced First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling.
- HUET with CA-EBS certification.
- XBR Shoulder measurement.
- Current valid OEUK/OGUK certification with Chester Step Test.
- Minimum IOSH Managing Safely; NEBOSH or higher preferred.
- GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Client representative training or similar (preferable).
