The Role – We are looking for a talented Production Engineer to provide engineering support across all aspects of their manufacturing operations in the UK and China. This role will be integral to the handover of projects from the Engineering and Industrialisation department to the manufacturing environment. The Production Engineer will work closely with the Production Engineering team to ensure the successful implementation of new products and modifications, maintain the manufacturing facilities' equipment, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Handover: Facilitate the effective handover of projects from the Engineering and Industrialisation department to manufacturing, ensuring smooth integration into production.
  • Tooling and Fixtures Development: Design, identify, and produce tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support various teams across the manufacturing facility.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to guide the efficient manufacture of products.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide engineering support for all plant equipment, including machinery, tooling, rigs, and other production assets.
  • Special Projects: Assist with sourcing and installation of new equipment for use in manufacturing. System design, fabrication of parts and system assembly.
  • Cost Saving Initiatives: Identify areas for cost-saving and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Investigate and resolve any quality issues within the manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to company standards and specifications.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate tasks for the team, monitor work progress, and ensure quality standards are maintained. May take on a coaching or mentoring role for junior team members.

Your Background –

  • Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in a production engineering role.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a production engineering environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling design.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing systems, machinery, and quality control.
    • Experience in cost optimisation and identifying efficiencies.

Travel: Willingness to travel between the UK and China to support production facilities.
