The Role
This market leading OEM is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Area Sales Manager to join their laboratory water purification instrumentation division. With over 80 years of innovation, they are dedicated to enabling scientific breakthroughs through pure water solutions that power research and discovery worldwide.
Your Mission
- Drive regional sales growth while providing valuable market insights and product feedback.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for each business unit to consistently exceed targets.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, focusing on key accounts to achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to set ambitious growth targets and implement high-impact strategies.
How will you do this?
- Engage and influence clients at all levels, building strong, long-term relationships.
- Craft compelling business proposals, sales plans, and contracts in collaboration with the organisation.
- Lead regular customer meetings to strengthen partnerships and drive long-term success.
- Stay ahead of the competition by monitoring market trends and identifying new growth opportunities.
Your Background
- Understanding of laboratory workflows and key instrumentation drivers.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce would be an advantage).
- Knowledge of finance metrics, typically bookings, revenue & margins.
- Experience in sales forecasting and budget management.
- Strong balance of sales hunting and account management skills.
- Track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experience managing third-party channels and global accounts.
- Presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Expertise in strategic sales planning and business development.
- Experience working in international markets.
- Strong communication skills to drive collaboration across regional and national teams.
- Ability to secure and manage high-value international deals.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- Extensive sales experience in the scientific/lab equipment industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Business-conscious and commercially astute.
- Fluent in English, with additional European languages being a plus.
