Our client is looking to appoint a Garment Technologist to support the wider Technical team and warehouse-based Quality Controller across the full product lifecycle, from design through to manufacture. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, a good eye for fit and quality, and the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product is delivered to the required standard.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing garment quality, fit, testing and technical approvals, while helping to keep the critical path on track. This role would suit someone who is confident across multi-product womenswear and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on quality and problem solving.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing garment quality assurance and fit from first fit stage through to final delivery
  • Attending fit meetings with buyers, designers and pattern cutters
  • Measuring, documenting and assessing samples from first fit through to production
  • Checking garment construction and quality, and advising on solutions to support quality assurance
  • Keeping the production critical path updated, ensuring fittings are completed and comments are sent out on time
  • Writing fit notes, preparing comments, grading specs and updating workbooks for suppliers and factories
  • Managing testing and safety standards to ensure all products meet required standards
  • Arranging testing where needed, interpreting test reports and issuing wash care information
Person specification:
  • Recent experience as a womenswear Garment Technologist, ideally within a high street supplier
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, quality assurance, wash care, testing requirements and patterns
  • Experience across multi-product womenswear including knit, jersey and woven, covering casual, outerwear and soft tailoring
  • Highly organised with a clear understanding of supply chain and critical path management
  • Strong communication skills, good attention to detail and confidence working independently and as part of a team, with solid Microsoft Office skills including Excel
