We are a leading womenswear supplier with an established and growing presence across the UK high street and supermarkets. Renowned for delivering trend-led, quality product at pace, they are looking for a Senior Jersey Designer to join their dynamic design team. Based in London, with the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement, you will take a lead role in creating and developing womenswear jersey collections that are both on-trend and commercially successful. This is an exciting opportunity for a Designer who thrives in a fast-moving supplier environment and has a genuine passion for the jersey category.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and development of womenswear jersey collections from initial concept through to final sign-off, ensuring designs are commercially relevant and trend-driven.
- Attending and interpreting key trade shows, catwalks, and trend forecasting resources to inform seasonal direction and range planning.
- Working closely with Account Managers to build balanced, commercially viable ranges that meet retail price architecture and margin requirements.
- Overseeing the fabric and trim selection process, with a strong understanding of jersey fabrications.
- Managing the critical path for your designated ranges, ensuring samples, amends, and approvals are progressed on time and in line with retailer deadlines.
- Collaborating with overseas factories in Bangladesh and Cambodia.
- Mentoring and supporting junior and mid-level designers within the team.
- Presenting collections and seasonal ranges confidently to Buyers and key stakeholders, clearly communicating design rationale.
Person specification:
- Previous experience as a Designer or Senior Designer with a significant focus on the jersey category.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a commercial eye across jersey womenswear ranges.
- In-depth knowledge of jersey fabrics, construction, and garment fit.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience working within a supplier, wholesale, or retail environment.
- Confident communicator with experience presenting to Buyers.
- Strong trend awareness and ability to translate macro trends into commercial product.
