An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Garment Technologist to join a growing, design-led fashion supplier working across premium womenswear categories. Covering bridal, dresses, tailoring, jersey and outerwear, this role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, fit consistency, and timely delivery.
Working closely with production, merchandising and overseas factories, you will bring strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to managing multiple accounts within a fast-paced environment. Based in the London studio 5 days a week.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Manage designated customer accounts, overseeing fit development and production across multiple product categories.
- Measure, assess, photograph and accurately record all fit, sealing and production samples.
- Attend regular fit sessions, ensuring approvals are achieved within critical path timelines.
- Produce detailed fit comments, size specifications, and graded specs, ensuring clear communication to factories.
- Liaise daily with China factory technical teams to ensure all fit and construction comments are implemented correctly.
- Manage fabric and chemical testing processes, ensuring all products meet UK, EU, USA and REACH compliance standards.
- Review and approve testing reports, escalating and resolving any failures in collaboration with suppliers and mills.
- Participate in weekly production meetings, proactively identifying and resolving any issues affecting delivery timelines.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers to ensure QC documentation is received and approved prior to shipment.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience as a Garment Technologist within a fashion supplier and experience working with China.
- Strong technical knowledge across multi-product womenswear, including tailoring, dresses, and outerwear.
- Testing knowledge with a good understanding of global compliance standards.
- Confident in leading fit sessions and providing clear, concise technical feedback.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines within a fast-paced setting.
