We’re hiring a Junior Womenswear Designer across predominantly jersey, with some woven, to join an impressive supplier working closely with leading high street and online fashion retailers. Based in Leicester, this highly creative role is for a Designer who lives and breathes the fast fashion customer, combining bold, trend‑led ideas with sharp commercial judgement to deliver best‑selling product at pace.

Responsibilities:

  • Support design across jersey product, with some woven, from order stage through to production.
  • Deliver best‑selling product each season.
  • Create production‑ready CADs and tech packs, including spec measurements and garment construction notes, and work closely with Garment Tech through fit sessions to final sign‑off.
  • Source fabrics and trims with mills and suppliers.
  • Own the seasonal critical path, prioritising workload to protect sampling, fit and ex‑factory dates.
  • Conduct regular comp shops and inspiration trips, translating insights into actionable product ideas and opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations across mood, colour, fabric and design direction tailored to Buyer briefs and conversations.

Person specification:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant or Junior Designer with strong jersey experience and exposure to woven product.
  • Exceptional customer focus with a strong feel for trend, silhouette and fabric.
  • Confident presenter and communicator, comfortable leading Buyer meetings and building strong working relationships.
  • Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction.
  • Proactive self‑starter with a willingness to travel for comp shops, inspiration, fabric shows and factory development trips as required.
