We are working with a distinctive lifestyle fashion brand who are looking to appoint a Menswear Designer with strong shape, print and graphics experience to join their Buying and Design team based in the North of England. The role offers hybrid working, with 3 days per week in the office. This is a key role within the design team, working closely with the Menswear Buyer, Head of Design and Founder to continue developing and growing the menswear offer. The successful candidate will bring strong creative handwriting, excellent graphic and print ability and a clear understanding of how to design product that remains true to the brand identity. The role will cover all areas of menswear, so wider product knowledge is important. You will be involved in trend research, seasonal concept development, graphics, prints, embroideries, fabric sourcing, tech packs, supplier communication and product development trips, while working collaboratively across the wider business.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Researching current and future trends and translating these into commercial menswear collections
  • Creating seasonal themes that reflect market direction while maintaining the brand handwriting
  • Designing across all menswear product areas, with a strong focus on shape, graphics, prints and embroideries
  • Working closely with the buying team on range development, seasonal direction and customer insight
  • Sourcing and developing new fabrics, trims and product ideas
  • Creating detailed tech packs and working directly with suppliers to develop designs
  • Attending local and international research and development trips
  • Presenting collections to the wider business and attending sign-off meetings

Person specification:

  • Previous experience as a Menswear Designer, ideally within a lifestyle brand
  • Strong shape, graphic and print design ability, with excellent Photoshop and Illustrator skills
  • Good technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrication, colour, detail and styling
  • Highly organised, collaborative and confident working with buying teams, suppliers and wider internal stakeholders
  • BA Hons degree or equivalent qualification in fashion/design or a related subject
