We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Knitwear Designer to join a leading supplier of high-quality fashion garments, specialising in innovative and trend-driven knitwear.
Based in Leicester, the ideal candidate will have a passion for knitwear design, a strong understanding of current fashion trends, and the technical expertise to bring innovative knitwear collections to life. This role involves working closely with the technical, and merchandising / production teams to ensure the highest quality standards in design, fit, and function.
Main Responsibilities:

Create innovative and commercially viable knitwear designs based on seasonal trends, market demands, and client briefs.

Research and analyse fashion trends, yarns, textures, colours, and patterns to inspire new collections.

Develop mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings that effectively communicate design concepts.

Source appropriate yarns, trims, and embellishments for each design, keeping in mind sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

Attend fit sessions and provide direction on design adjustments and garment construction to ensure design integrity is maintained.

Work closely with buyers, clients, and external partners to understand their needs, presenting knitwear collections and making revisions as required.

Develop detailed technical specifications for all designs, including knit structure, yarn composition, and sizing.

Work with technical teams to ensure garment construction, fit, and finishes meet industry standards and brand expectations.

Previous knitwear design experience within a supplier or fashion brand.
