A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Garment Technologist to join a leading outerwear and leisure supplier on a part-time freelance basis. Based in their London office, you will be working 1-2 days per week supporting the design team on the development of high-quality, cost-effective children's outerwear and leisurewear collections. This hands-on role is ideal for a technically skilled garment tech who understands the full product lifecycle and is confident advising on fit, construction and production viability.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Running in-house fit sessions and providing clear, proactive technical advice to designers in line with brand standards
  • Translating CADs into accurate 1st protos by advising on fabric choice, construction and cost-effective solutions
  • Liaising with the in-house design team and offshore sample rooms in China
  • Ensuring proto garments meet specification and customer standards
  • Maintaining and updating the block library and sourcing relevant samples
  • Measuring bought samples for both development and reference use

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in garment technology within childrenswear
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and fit techniques
  • Confident working closely with designers and offshore factories
  • Skilled in measuring and evaluating garment samples
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
