TRP Recruitment
Our client is a multi-brand group home to a portfolio of reputable global brands. We're looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to take ownership of their menswear technical function, managing fit, quality, testing and compliance across tailoring, outerwear, shirting, denim and jersey from concept through to bulk production. Main Responsibilities Will Include: Leading garment fittings on live models, approving fits and sealing bulk production, with clear technical feedback to suppliers within a 48-hour turnaround. Creating and managing product workbooks for inline ranges and SMUs, developing detailed specs from initial design sketches through to graded bulk production. Establishing and maintaining core fit blocks across key product areas to drive consistency season on season and reduce sampling rounds. Collaborating closely with Product Developers, Designers and factories on construction, patterns, grading and make-up requirements to improve fit, finish and cost efficiency. Setting base and bulk testing requirements in line with REACH standards, reviewing AQL test reports and managing compliance approval trackers. Investigating and resolving technical, quality and compliance issues with factories and suppliers at all stages of development. Analysing seasonal customer returns and conducting competitor research to identify technical improvements and reduce return rates. Supporting supplier and factory visits, onboarding, compliance audits and risk assessments, while contributing to sustainability and sampling-reduction initiatives. Person specification: Minimum 4 years' experience as a Garment Technologist with a strong specialism in menswear across tailoring, outerwear, shirting, trousers, denim and jersey. Deep technical knowledge of fit, grading, size specs, garment construction, pattern cutting and manufacturing processes across regular, slim and oversized fits. Proven experience working with overseas suppliers and technical labs, with a track record of building strong cross-functional relationships. In-depth understanding of trims, components and bulk production challenges including collars, waistbands, sleeve pitch, stretch recovery and comfort testing. Commercially minded with a solid understanding of current menswear trends, customer expectations and an eye for continuous product improvement. Highly organised self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, able to manage competing priorities, meet critical path deadlines and thrive under pressure. TPBN1_UKTJ
