Our client, a thriving and well-established supplier in the women's fashion industry, is on the lookout for a passionate and detail-driven Fabric & Compliance Technologist. In this key role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that every material used across their stylish collections meets the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and compliance.

Working closely with mills, suppliers, and internal teams, you will oversee fabric development from concept to production, ensuring all materials align with legal regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and performance expectations. If you are a fabric expert with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to innovation and integrity, this is your chance to make your mark with a fashion brand that values both creativity and responsibility.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Testing fabrics for things like colour fastness, shrinkage, and flammability
  • Checking lab reports to make sure our materials are up to scratch
  • Ensuring all fabrics follow environmental and safety regulations (e.g., OEKO-TEX, REACH, GOTS)
  • Working with suppliers and factories to keep things compliant and sustainable
  • Helping to resolve any fabric issues quickly and effectively
  • Keeping our records and certifications organised and up to date
  • Visiting factories and mills to check that they are meeting chemical safety and environmental standards
  • Helping factory teams set up proper testing and chemical handling systems that meet buyer and industry expectations

Person Specifications:

  • A degree in Textile Science, Fabric Technology or similar
  • 3-5 years of experience in a fabric or textile role, ideally with a supplier, mill, or brand
  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, finishes, and how they perform
  • Familiarity with global testing and compliance standards
  • A solid understanding of sustainability certifications like GOTS and OEKO-TEX
  • Great communication skills and a keen eye for detail
