We are supporting a highly successful Design Studio in their search for a Graduate Designer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent fashion or design graduate looking to gain hands-on experience within a commercial fashion environment. Based in London, the successful candidate will work closely with senior designers, providing essential support across CAD design, product development, and day-to-day studio operations. The studio supplies to several major high street retailers, offering strong exposure to the full design and production process. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their technical and creative skills while building a solid foundation within the fashion industry. Please note this role is a 35 hour week.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Maintaining the organisation and visual presentation of the showroom, ensuring it is tidy, well-merchandised, and prepared for internal and client meetings.
  • Managing and organising the fabric library.
  • Preparing and assembling fabric packs for clients, ensuring accuracy and high presentation standards.
  • Coordinating all incoming and outgoing parcels, including local and international shipments, ensuring timely dispatch and tracking.
  • Liaising with overseas factories to support with design and development requests, maintaining clear and professional communication.
  • Providing day-to-day support to Senior Designers, assisting with ad hoc tasks and project requirements.
  • Organising development samples, including numbering, photographing, and maintaining accurate records for tracking and reference.
  • Supporting the creation of trend boards and conducting design research to assist with seasonal development.
  • Carrying out competitor shopping (comp shops) to analyse current market trends and product offerings.
  • Producing and updating CAD designs.

Person Specifications:

  • A degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related discipline.
  • Strong CAD skills with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Good understanding of fabrics, materials, and garment trims, with awareness of their application in design and production.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence liaising across teams and external partners.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and eager to develop a career within the fashion industry, with a positive and can-do attitude.
