Recruitment Consultant – Fashion Design, Production, Technical, Retail and Head Office
A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a highly creative and forward-thinking Womenswear Designer to join a renowned fashion business. In this role, you will identify emerging trends, create commercially successful and directional multi-product collections, and take the lead across the full design lifecycle, from initial concept through to sample development.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a visionary designer with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners. We are looking for someone who brings fresh ideas, challenges the norm, and thrives in a fast-paced design environment.
Main responsibilities
- Research seasonal trends and develop inspiring trend and concept boards for showroom ranges and client presentations
- Design innovative, trend‑led womenswear collections with a strong emphasis on day/evening dresses, bridal, and tailored pieces
- Source cost‑effective, production‑ready fabrics aligned with seasonal direction and customer needs
- Lead team design meetings, presenting ideas, reviewing sketches, and coordinating fabric development
- Communicate daily with factories, delivering clear tech packs and overseeing sample development
- Conduct monthly sourcing of new fabrics, techniques, and trims from mills and factories
- Participate in seasonal international sourcing and development trips
Person Specification
- Proven experience in womenswear design, with a compelling multi‑product portfolio – particularly day and evening dresses
- Strong understanding of trend direction, fabrication, and garment construction
- Excellent sketching skills (hand and digital) and strong technical drawing ability
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel internationally for sourcing and development
