We are working for a leading fashion company who are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior License Men's Designer to join their creative team. Based in London, this is a key role for someone who lives and breathes culture, from streetwear drops to the latest in music and film and who understands how to translate that energy into compelling, commercial licensed product. Working closely with Buyers, factories and licensors, you'll drive newness, lead on approvals and help set the direction for the wider design team. To be considered for this role you must have previous men's licenced graphic experience within apparel. This role offers hybrid working.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Developing licensed product with a genuine fashion perspective, going beyond simple reproduction to create desirable, trend-led designs.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Buyers and factories, communicating confidently and professionally at all levels.
- Navigating the full licensing process end-to-end, including working with licensees and licensors, managing DTRs and driving approvals.
- Proactively sending newness to Buyers on a regular and reactive basis, supported by research, CADs and developed samples.
- Staying ahead of the market through frequent shop visits, trend research and immersion in relevant cultural spaces, music, film, art, travel and streetwear.
- Prepping artwork for sampling and production, including an understanding of screen and digital printing processes and basic AOP.
- Setting briefs and providing creative direction to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring consistent design standards.
- Applying knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, composition, weights, textures and washes to deliver technically sound product.
Person Specification:
- Proven background in a supply, licensor or retail design environment.
- Men's Graphic design experience within Licencing merchandise.
- Knowledge of shape advantageous.
- Confident and experienced in communicating directly with Buyers and factories.
- Strong working knowledge of the licensing landscape.
- Self-motivated with a reactive, proactive approach to the role.
- Technical understanding of screen and digital printing processes, basic AOP knowledge, and artwork preparation including separations.
- Handwriting that genuinely understands the customer profile of Bershka, Pull+Bear, Urban Outfitters and Primark in the context of licence.
