An exciting opportunity to join a reputable global company licensing world‑renowned sportswear brands, based at their London office are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Merchandiser to join their growing team.

You will play a key role in supporting product, inventory, and trading decisions through detailed analysis, planning, and reporting.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Preparing weekly, quarterly, and seasonal trade and inventory performance reports to provide actionable insights to the wider team.
  • Conducting comprehensive post‑event and promotional analyses, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compiling detailed seasonal product reviews, highlighting key successes, underperforming products, and opportunities for future seasons.
  • Conducting monthly website performance analyses and recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business decision‑making.
  • Conducting competitor analysis to support product, pricing, and promotional strategies, identifying market opportunities and gaps.
  • Forecasting seasonal trends and providing recommendations to support future product development.
  • Developing assortment plans in line with Open‑To‑Buy (OTB) parameters, recommending core and carry‑over product lines.
  • Preparing product selections and placing orders in line with OTB budgets and launch objectives.
  • Preparing seasonal buy review presentations, summarising buys against OTB plans, range plans, and identifying gaps.
  • Managing product gaps and cancellations following order confirmation, ensuring minimal impact on product availability.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to support launch‑specific marketing plans and product information for website uploads.
  • Coordinating with operations teams to monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely market launches.
  • Evaluating in‑season buying opportunities and adjustments based on sales performance and inventory levels.
  • Overseeing product allocations across e‑commerce channels to optimise inventory distribution.
  • Planning and executing replenishment activities to maintain optimum inventory levels.
  • Preparing monthly inventory progression reports and monitoring inventory cover against agreed targets.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of promotions and markdown strategies to achieve revenue and inventory objectives.

Person Specification

  • Experience within merchandising, inventory management, retail planning, buying, or retail analytics.
  • Degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, Retail Management, Fashion Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working within a fashion, sportswear, lifestyle, or retail environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Shopify is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret data to support commercial decision‑making.
  • Good understanding of merchandise planning, inventory management, forecasting, and Open‑To‑Buy (OTB) processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable working within a fast‑paced environment.
