We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join this ladies brand who are a growing finance team in Debden, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced, creative fashion brand with a strong community‑led culture and ambitious growth plans.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function, managing supplier payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and building strong relationships across suppliers and internal teams. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, thrives under pressure, and has a proactive and positive approach.
Main Responsibilities- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and within deadlines
- Verifying invoice coding, approvals, and payment details in line with company procedures
- Preparing payment runs including BACS and bank transfers
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice discrepancies efficiently
- Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships
- Supporting month‑end processes including accruals and finance reporting
- Assisting with audits and maintaining accurate financial documentation
- Identifying opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and efficiency
- Previous experience within Accounts Payable or a similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and organisational skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Xero, Sage or Business Central
- Able to manage multiple deadlines within a fast‑paced environment
- A proactive, personable team player with strong communication skills
