Due to expansion, my client is looking for Mid and Senior Level Knitwear Designers, where your creativity and expertise will shape the future of knitwear collections, working with key UK Retailers. This key role offers the opportunity to lead innovative design initiatives, work with a dynamic team, and bring distinctive patterns and textures to life. If you have a passion for knitwear and a keen eye for current trends, this is your chance to make a significant impact in the industry. This role offers good hybrid working, the successful candidate must be able to work in the London office at least 3 days a week.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leading the conceptualisation and development of seasonal knitwear collections that align with brand vision and market demand.
- Creating detailed technical sketches, colour palettes, and fabric specifications.
- Collaborating closely with sourcing, production, and merchandising teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends, materials, and techniques to continuously inspire fresh design ideas.
- Mentoring junior designers and contributing to a creative and innovative studio environment.
- Presenting design concepts to buyers and handling revisions with agility and professionalism.
- Liase with overseas factories in the far east and Bangladesh.
Person Specifications:
- Proven experience as a Mid - Senior Knitwear Designer, with some previous supplier experience.
- Experience of working with Far East and Bangladesh factories.
- Confident presenting to Buyers at all levels.
- Excellent creativity with a keen understanding of fabric properties and construction.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate design ideas clearly.
