My client is a well-established UK & European ladies\' supplier to leading retailers. This role would suit a junior or mid-level designer looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced, trend-led environment. You\'ll be part of a small, collaborative team of like-minded designers, working on a variety of exciting accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for commercial products, an awareness of the latest trends, and the confidence to contribute fresh ideas. Previous Supplier Experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and interpret trends to design commercial, on‑brand collections tailored to each retailer\'s customer.
  • Create and present mood boards, range concepts, and product ideas to buyers and design teams.
  • Coordinate product development with Far East factories, ensuring all samples are delivered on time for range sign‑off meetings.
  • Liaise daily with UK‑based sales and technical teams to support development and production processes.
  • Develop and source new fabrics, yarns, and trims to enhance collections.
  • Produce accurate and detailed CAD drawings for sampling, both for in‑house ranges and bespoke customer requests.
  • Carry out market research and attend trade and trend prediction fairs to stay ahead of emerging fashion movements.
  • Guide customers and buyers on market trends and product direction.

Person Specification

  • Experience as a knitwear designer with a strong, commercial handwriting.
  • Confident presentation skills, with the ability to communicate design concepts clearly to customers.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction and the ability to create accurate spec drawings.
  • Proven experience working with Far East factories and suppliers.
  • Strong CAD skills with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
