Our client is seeking a talented and versatile soft woven designer to join their creative team. The successful candidate will work across multiple large retail accounts, including supermarkets and high-volume retailers. This role is ideal for a commercially minded designer with a keen fashion sense and experience working with suppliers. You will collaborate closely with account managers and attend meetings with buyers, contributing to the development of innovative and market-ready collections.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop seasonal mood boards and trend guides in collaboration with the design team.
  • Create seasonal capsule collections.
  • Research and source new design ideas, fabrics, trims, and finishes to ensure product innovation and competitiveness.
  • Design and develop commercially viable and fashion-forward woven products, focusing on both aesthetic appeal and market trends.
  • Participate in regular design meetings with customer teams to ensure collections align with client expectations and commercial goals.
  • Liaise with suppliers and production teams to source and develop fabrics and trims, maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience working with suppliers in a woven/separates environment, with a strong background in soft wovens.
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, with strong technical pack skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in developing range plans and technical specifications.
  • A good eye for fashion trends combined with a commercially savvy approach to design.
  • Confident and professional IT and communication skills, enabling effective participation in customer meetings and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating flexibility and proactive problem-solving skills.
