I am recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Fashion Jersey Designer to join a highly successful design and sales team, working across several key accounts with major UK retailers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer looking to develop their career in a fast-paced, commercial fashion environment. You will be front-facing with buyers, presenting your ranges alongside the Account Managers, so confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for fashion are essential.

You will need strong commercial design experience across fashion-forward casualwear, plus some formal and leisure jersey, and a good understanding of what works for major retailers. You will take ownership of the jersey department from initial trend research and concept development through to creating detailed CADs and technical packs for production, working closely with the wider design and sales teams throughout the process.

The role is based in London and offers flexible hybrid working, so candidates based elsewhere in the UK will be considered, provided you are able to travel to the London office 3 days per week.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Researching and interpreting key seasonal trends, colours, fabrics, silhouettes and competitor activity.
  • Designing commercially successful and trend-led jersey ranges.
  • Creating detailed and accurate CADs using Adobe Software.
  • Producing technical packs with clear measurements, construction details and product specifications.
  • Working closely with Buyers to understand customer briefs, requirements and commercial direction.
  • Attending customer meetings and presenting new ideas, concepts and product ranges where required.
  • Liaising with factories and suppliers throughout the development process to ensure products are developed accurately and efficiently.
  • Working closely with Technical, Product Development and Merchandising teams throughout the critical path.
  • Reviewing samples and providing clear comments and amendments to ensure products meet the required design, fit and quality standards.
  • Conducting regular competitor and market research to identify new opportunities and emerging trends.

Person Specifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Jersey Designer at either a supplier or retailer.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret trends into wearable and commercially successful products.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent CAD work, commercial product development and a clear understanding of jersey design.
  • Confident creating detailed, accurate and production-ready technical packs.
  • Strong understanding of jersey fabrics, garment construction, fit and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with Buyers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • A proactive, creative and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine passion for fashion and product development.
