We are working with an exciting fashion supplier based in Central London looking for a talented Childrenswear Designer to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly creative designer with a strong fashion eye, a trend-led handwriting and experience developing commercial childrenswear for supermarkets and fashion-forward high street brands. The company offers hybrid working.
We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas, strong product knowledge and excellent commercial awareness to a fast-paced design environment.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop trend-led childrenswear collections across multiple product categories
- Research emerging fashion, colour, fabric, shape and cultural trends to inspire new concepts
- Create seasonal trend boards, mood boards, CADs and customer presentations
- Develop commercially relevant ranges tailored to different customers and age groups
- Work closely with customers to interpret briefs and translate them into successful product
- Produce detailed CADs, technical packs and accurate design specifications
- Work closely with overseas factories throughout the sampling and development process
- Manage multiple developments and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
Person specification:
- Previous experience within childrenswear design, ideally within a supplier environment
- Strong trend-led handwriting with excellent fashion awareness and commercial instinct
- Experience working with supermarkets and fashion-forward high street customers would be highly advantageous
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills with confidence creating CADs and technical design packs
- Confident working under pressure, managing multiple briefs and delivering to tight deadlines
