Job Purpose
To design business solutions through developing solution architecture work products in response to specific business needs that are fit for purpose, compliant and adhere to all utility sector operational, architectural and design standards and principles.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure the integrity of solution designs from concept through implementation, balancing the architectural concerns of projects with concerns of the enterprise.
- Provide consultation on the interpretation and application of the solution architecture.
- Provide design-related services at the blueprinting level and other phases of development.
- Guide business stakeholders to solutions that maximise utility sector investment in technology.
- Provide thought leadership on innovative technical solutions to business stakeholders.
- Identify, own and support the delivery of global solutions for assigned projects.
- Communicate the solution architecture to all other relevant business functions.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Good stakeholder management and influencing skills at project stakeholder level.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
Additional Specific Skills & Experience Required
Experience designing / implementing CDE/BIM architectures and services – CDE/BIM experience ideally using AutoDesk Construction Cloud and how this integrates to other platforms.
Qualifications
- SIFA ARCH 4 – 5
- Software development and/or support experience at an enterprise level. Familiarity with software development lifecycle management techniques with experience in product and vendor evaluation and technology rollout.
- Knowledge of solution architectures including applying standard architectures and patterns within solution designs and various hosting environments/platforms.
Other
- A history of solution architecture design delivery as a leader – lots of on-time/on-budget – lots of leadership – lots of challenges overcome and benefits realised.
- Excellent communication/presentation – the ability to communicate verbally and via the written work/slides to an exec level with clear reports and risks.
- Senior & diverse Stakeholder management experience – looking to work and influence stakeholders across multiple organisations.
- Strong Agile experience – proven experience of successful programme definition and delivery within agile frameworks including SAFE and SCRUM.
- Self-Motivated – ability to define and carry out the work that is needed in a fluid programme environment.
- UK Based – we will need to get together face-to-face from time to time.
- Outcome focused – driven by a need to delivery against agreed outcomes.
