This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate to join a small international private wealth team with excellent clients and ambitions for growth. The Private Wealth team is led by Partner, Richard Jordan and includes 4 further partners based across our UK and international offices. The group advises a wide range of individuals and families, family offices, wealthy families and private wealth advisors on matters involving tax, wealth planning, structuring and philanthropy.
The purpose of this role is to work directly with our Private Wealth Partners to provide a first‑class service to clients and assist in the future development of the group. Acting for HNWIs, family offices, trustees and organisations servicing the private wealth sector both in the UK and internationally, we undertake all types of private client advisory and implementation work. The role is focused on international and cross‑border tax and estate planning, acting for clients with widespread multi‑jurisdictional elements to their business and personal affairs.
We work with a wide range of families, individuals, trustees, and those in the private wealth advisory sector. Each is unique, but what they all share is the need for practical advice to enable them to plan for the future and tackle arising challenges. We have a proven track record of providing first class training and support to assist individuals in reaching their career goals.
As our department continues to grow, we have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join the team in Birmingham. Acting for individuals and trusts both in the UK and internationally, you will undertake all types of private client work including:
- Estate and asset protection planning
- Drafting wills including tax efficient wills and those incorporating trusts
- Creation of onshore trusts including drafting and advising
- Powers of attorney
- Court of Protection matters
- Pro‑active participation in marketing initiatives
- Efficient file management skills and ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures
- Participating in firm‑wide and departmental training sessions
What you will need:
- Previous experience of the above matters
- Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 6 years' PQE in private client work
- STEP member or working towards a STEP qualification is strongly desired
- Strong client focus and a commitment to service delivery
- Commercial awareness and excellent financial management
- A strong team player with an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels
- Solid academic record
