Overview
We\\\’re pleased to be expanding our Solicitor Apprenticeship programme this year across our four offices in the UK. During the first four years of the programme, you will complete your law degree. In the final year and a half, you will complete the Solicitors Qualifying Examination, all while being exposed to a wide variety of departments.
Responsibilities
- In years 1-2, an apprentice would operate at a legal assistant level and will complete work such as: scheduling, filing, maintaining document management systems, undertaking legal research and other administrative tasks. Alongside this, apprentices will be completing their law degree element of their apprenticeship.
- In years 3-4, an apprentice would operate at a paralegal level and would complete tasks such as: undertaking legal research, running various matters under supervision, preparing legal documents, etc. Alongside this, apprentices will be completing their law degree element of their apprenticeship.
- In years 5-6, apprentices will merge with our trainee cohorts and will complete 6-month rotations across the business, whilst completing their Solicitors Qualifying Examinations. They will also perform activities such as finding, analysing, and assessing documents to extract relevant information, interpreting and evaluating information, and presenting findings clearly.
- Recognise when legal research is needed and use appropriate methods and resources, including identifying, finding and assessing the relevance of sources of law, interpreting and applying research results, and recording and presenting findings accurately.
- Develop strategies and solutions with an understanding of a client\\\’s commercial and personal circumstances, needs, objectives, priorities and constraints; provide advice informed by legal analysis and consequences of different options.
- Draft documents from scratch and use precedents to address legal and factual issues, complying with formalities and using clear, accurate language.
- Undertake effective spoken and written advocacy in court and outside of formal hearings, including preparation, organizing facts, presenting reasons clearly, referencing legal authority, complying with formalities, handling witnesses, and addressing questions or opposing arguments.
- Negotiate solutions to clients\\\’ issues, identifying interests and options, proposing compromises, and responding to other parties\\\’ options.
- Plan and manage legal cases and transactions, applying processes to progress matters, assessing and managing risk, and bringing a transaction or case to a conclusion.
- Obtain relevant facts through effective questioning and active listening; find, analyse, and assess documents to extract relevant information, and present findings clearly.

Salary and Benefits
