Key Responsibilities:
- Asset management: Prepares the Asset Management Plan and associated budgets for the mid and long term, taking into account the total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of the assets. Monitors obsolescence and risk associated to it to take mitigating action plan.
- Technical Projects: Directs the design and development of CAPEX projects, acts as project owner or project manager. Participates in assigned installation and/or process improvement projects, within the project management guidelines.
- Leadership and people management: Provides leadership to his/her area in production and M&R (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives. Manages and coaches a team of professionals, motivates employees through sincere and concrete feedback and takes appropriate action when needed, stimulates team cooperation and mobility and ensures that managers and staff are deployable (quantitatively and qualitatively) and willing to and capable of realising the set objectives.
- Maintenance management: Plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) to rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions. Assesses the nature of the maintenance, studies the drawings and manuals, ensures the availability of necessary materials, parts and tools and ensures the planning of the execution with relevant departments.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots any mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems and in offices and warehouses, through received messages, such that the work in terms of technology and safety can be resumed and any stagnation is limited to a minimum. Locates the cause of the disturbance, determines whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assesses the nature and extent of faults and determines whether immediate repair is necessary and possible. If needed, ensures immediate (emergency) repairs are executed.
- Preventive / planned maintenance: Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and carries out inspections in the context of preventive and corrective maintenance/overhaul, so that the technical underperforming conditions are timely identified and corrective actions can be taken. Assesses the state of maintenance and reports serious findings to the production management; directly repairs (impending) defects if possible. Ensures the planning and execution of corrective maintenance arising from the inspections, at scheduled times.
- Continuous improvement: Researches, evaluates, and recommends new equipment, tools and processes in maintenance and production in order to enhance the capabilities of production and/or maintenance. Monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards. Rolls out best practices of Maintenance (TPM, AM, PM, …); has a strong input to the site masterplan process.
- Compliance: Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations. Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area (incl. some key procedures linked with ATEX, Work at height, LOTO and Confined space, Work Permits etc…).
